« Finite containing the infinite » makes me think of black holes which could contain expanding universes tending towards infinity in a finite volume.

He missed a part: it takes a finite amount of time to travel all of the half distances. There are an infite number of half distances. Therefore, it would take an infinite amount of time to get where you are going, and you would never get there.

I was reading a short story in dragon lance and the antagonist of the story told this paradox but called it the 'archers paradox' took me years to find out it was actually about infinity in finite spaces

It's not really a paradox. You only end up getting there because the size Of your feet eventually become larger than the remaining size of the distance between you and the in location.

Isn't it more, if you keep halving you finally get to a point so small is in measurable ??

It's sort of why you can't get to the speed of light, you keep going faster but you diminishing the time available to do it at the same " time" ! ( Not taking into account the infinite mass ) .

Or why Pi is a never recurring decimal . We measure in squares not circles, to measure area of a circle our equation is squares of smaller and smaller size, but the curve of a circle always leaves room for a smaller square to fit in a never ending line of smaller squares, finally it's so small it's unmeasurable .
