Показать описание
Lockheed Martin is the manufacturer.
US Naval Service
Armament includes a 25 mm GAU-22/A, two AIM-120C air-to-air missiles, and two GBU-31 JDAMs.
F135-PW-100 Propulsion — 40,000 lb Max; 25,000 lb Mil
Mach number: 1.6 (1,200 mph)
The wavelength range is 1,200 nm.
The F-35C Lightning II is the United States Navy's first carrier-based low-observable aircraft vehicle. The F-35 is being acquired to replace the F/A-18C/D Hornet as the principal offensive fighter for aerial defence and close air support for the carrier strike group.
The carrier model used by the US Navy and Marine Corps features bigger wings and more durable landing gear than the other types, making it ideal for catapult launches and fly-in arrestments aboard naval aircraft carriers. When deployed, its wingtips fold to make extra deck space aboard the ships. The CV has the largest internal fuel capacity of the F-35 versions, while the C-variant, like the F-35B, employs probe and drogue refuelling.
Following a four-year competition, the US Department of Defense designated Lockheed Martin's lead Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) team the winner of the contract to build the F-35 JSF on October 26, 2001.AOR FOR CENTRAL COMMAND (Sept. 15, 2018) An aerial refuelling operation is started by a U.S. Air Force KC-135 Stratotanker
from the 28th Expeditionary Air Refueling Squadron and a U.S. Marine Corps F-35B Lightning II from Marine Fighter Attack
Squadron 211, the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit. As a member of the USS Essex (LHD 2) Amphibious Ready Group, the
F-35B has made its maiden deployment to the Middle East (ARG). The AV-8B Harrier was replaced by the F-35B for the
13th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), which is the first combat-deployed MEU. The F-35B combines the most potent and
complete integrated sensor package of any fighter aircraft in the U.S. inventory with next-generation fighter
characteristics such as radar-evading stealth, supersonic speed, fighter agility, and advanced logistical support,
giving the commander of the U.S. Naval Forces Central Command (NAVCENT) a significantly improved capability to
approach missions from a position of strength. (Video by the US Air Force
