Some advice on the steering wheel controls. Use PAC instead of Axxess. We were a huge Metra dealer but their Axxess line was the buggiest we've seen causing us to make a no use policy on them. Pac is bulletproof. If you experience issue with Axxess you may want to consider the PAC.

If you’re experiencing “GPS Drifting, ” (when your vehicle says you’re somewhere else on the map) you may want to route your GPS antenna above the dashboard, under your windshield and away from your wipers. I had someone else install my head unit for me and I ended up having to reroute the GPS antenna myself and discovered that the “technician” I paid just shoved the GPS antenna into the back and didn’t suck it onto anything. When checking for Satellite connectivity, it had 2-3 satellites (extremely low). After rerouting a new GPS antenna, I’m now receiving 17-22 satellites and no longer experiencing GPS drifting. Just a heads up.

What did you end up doing with the yellow mute wire for steering wheel? Looks like you clipped the reverse guidelines loop, any luck adjusting the pioneer head unit guidelines? you may have powered the camera hot as you described which may give camera anytime, but I saw in your video it sensed reverse.

I have that same camera and a DMH-W4660... can I connect the red and black from the camera directly to the red and black on the back of the head unit for power and ground and then just tap the purple reverse wire directly to a reverse lead or do I have to run those red and black wires to separate power and ground?

Would you recommend this headunit for the Celica? I really don't need much regarding the sound system but I have one of those cheap units from ebay right now and I'm trying to upgrade it.

do you happen to know if the steering wheel control AX-TOY28SWC is compatible with a 2013 scion xB? if not, which one is, specifically?

edit: i called Axxess sales support, im not patient and wanting to install this weekend. They said there's a plug-n-play adaptor (either the same or similar to yours) that i could use, but its not required. He helped explain how to connect the interface without the extra harness using just the ASWC-1 (for my specific car, not sure if you can for all cars). He also added that its the same as the other AXSWC model, they just relabeled the device i guess, one is the newer name label than the other, compatibility should be exact, I would call them to be safe
