My mother loved how this film did not have a specific hero. Instead, it emphasized the teamwork, how different people all contributed to bring the crew home.

Lived through it and have seen the movie over 50 times. I hold my breath and cry every single time

Apollo 13 is seen as a failed mission, but to me it was greatest hours of our space program showing the leadership, ingenuity, and never quit attitude of the whole program.

I vividly remember this as it was happening. Any people around the world who had access to television or radio, were praying for these 3 men.

Amazing teamwork! Just incredible. This movie nailed it.

I love this film. The fact that Hollywood did their research when making this film properly just makes it even better.

A comment with I saw which is spot on is that, if you were in a damaged spaceship trying to get home safely, you could not wish for a better guy in charge of the rescue mission than Gene Kranz. That said, everyone did their bit to ensure the successful outcome.

The reason I tear up seeing it again is that I remember seeing it on TV back then. You cannot comprehend how much prayer was going up the world over for them to make it.

Interesting fact: Because Apollo 13 did not drop into lunar orbit but instead flew far behind the moon to this day they hold the record as being the humans who went farthest from Earth.

I'm old enough to remember this too. A real nail biter in real life. I was around 11 years old then.

Fun fact, the captain of the naval ship is played by the real life Jim Lovell portrayed by Tom Hanks. He was wearing his own uniform as well. Mrs Lovell can be spotted in the crowd watching the launch

The late James Horner’s masterful score is unforgettable.

bringing that crew home safe, was, in my opinion, the greatest space feat humanity has ever achieved

A cousin of mine picked up these guys in helicopter. Survived.

A wonderful film which showed up the extraordinary courage of the crew and the brilliant minds and teams in Mission Control who brought them home. The acting from everyone was superb with my personal favourite being Ed Harris who portrayed Gene Kranz. An incredible story and a movie I never get tired of watching. Always feel a bit sad to see the great Bill Paxton who was taken from us far too soon.

My grandfather worked for Grumman and was a part of the team that helped get them home.

Always moving. Always and forever.
I love the soundtrack in this part, as if angels were looking at them.

It's crazy that the space program was better in the 60s/70s then it is now
