@MutilatedMetalMatt Pretty much, i had to film 7 or 8 lessons for the upcoming issues on the spot with no preparation (didnt have time to prepare, was recording an ep/preparing for our euro tour) and it was Guitar World, needless to say i was nervous. Sorry guys, im a guitarist, not a public speaker.

He doesn't know theory either?? WHAT!!! Pure natural talent man

This guy's writing concept is perfect. No different from a classical composer with years of theory. Do what sounds good and give it a mood, idea to convey, or some purpose.

@thelilEmoBoy I didnt form or start "Djent", and i wasnt trying to do anything other than just create music that sounded good to me and that i could be proud of, the same is as true back then as it is today. Label it progressive or djent or whatever you want, but its all about having no limitations to me...

You guys are a trip. This guy goes in detail as best he can to try and help others who are not so advanced, to help understand and teach what so many love about what hes doing. I totally appreciate the fact this guy takes his time to literally spill it all out for you here in the simplest form but yet others complain.. LOL WOW.

I know djent needs a pretty heavy noise gate, but does his voice really need it as well?

being a master of music theory can allow you to play some amazingly complex stuff. Yet if you focus too much on creating a theoretically sound sequence of notes you lose that raw emotion that really speaks to those without knowledge in theory. Its one of the main reasons why classical music tends to only be truly appreciated by people who are knowledgeable in theory.

Such a cool guy. I will never forget when I saw them a month ago, the band's has great chemistry together too. They perform like true musicians.
