How many states are there in India in 2022? Many of you might have faced this question asked by your friend, your child, or if you had participated in your local quiz competition. The question looks very easy, but when you start naming all 28 States, you might miss out on a few.
Until the 6th of August 2019, India consisted of 29 states officially. The number decreased by one when Jammu & Kashmir was granted the status of a Union Territory with its legislature.
