Autoclave Sterilizing

I came here from a tiktok video of a dental assistant that was hired in a dental office that didn't have an autoclave machine and would just run water through the tools and put the in sterile bags. She quit and reported them. The office closed shop.

Great video! The only concern I have is the clinician uses the dirty utility gloves to transfer clean instruments to the clean area, this makes the outside of the sterilizing bags contaminated.

Do we consider the door of the autoclave clean or dirty? How do we touch it with the utility gloves and then after the cycle finishs open it with clean hands and carry the sterilized instruments?

Thank you so much for this! I have been a dental assistant for a little over a year, and I am at a new office, with a new autoclave. And everyone just assumes I know how to properly use and maintain the M11. I was looking for a button to fill water lol THANK YOU!!
