After Argentinian National Team and Chelsea FC midfielder Enzo Fernandez went on Instagram Live to show part of the team's Copa America celebration, fierce backlash followed as players were heard singing a racist chant about the French National Team and their African-born players. Im Colombian, I’m pretty dark skinned and I haven’t met the first Argentinian who has treated me disrespectfully. Songs like this don’t translate well because being politically correct is not part of Spanish speaking Latin American culture, but when we translate it to English, in today’s cultural landscape, pretty much everything can be deemed as offensive. But the whole point of this songs is to actually make fun of everybody else. Obviously the YouTuber here doesn’t get it, he puts it out of context, as if it was part of a dissertation and the words they actually sing in the video clip at the beginning actually say absolutely nothing offensive. Good on him for getting lots of clicks and comments but too bad he’s adding gas to the woke fire, and actually doing nothing to contribute to a better society but instead he’s just inciting division among us and patting himself on the back for denouncing « hate speech ».

As a colored spanish speaking person with multiple nationalities due to parents/grandparents all from different backgrounds, where is the racism in the song? I dont hear anything racist being said or implied. I feel like it's usually people that have never experienced any sort of racism that always cry racism. I hate to break it to you but football players are not hired for their brains but for their feet. Same as most other sports players. Chirping is part of the game to get your opponent off balance/ riled up/ be less effective. That doesn’t turn off once they leave the pitch.
