Tip: Japan basically invented double cleansing culture and the cleaners are called in two different names depending on which step it is. クレンジング (Kurenjingu) is meant to be used first and 洗顔料 (Senganryo) is meant to be second. They’ll say on the back!!

Japanese cleansers (the second step) tend to be soap-based so look for ones that say アミノ酸 (amino acid) for gentle surfactants!!!

My go-to sunscreens for dealing with acne-prone skin is littlllextra rice berry SPF 50+ sunscreen. The major issues I face with a lot of sunscreens are that either they break me out and they make my skin feel dry and burn. However, this sunscreen doesn’t have those issues and it applies well under makeup which is essential for me since I wear makeup daily as someone with acne-prone skin.

Anything labeled "tone up" is made to make the color of your skin one tone up... so use the regular version (gold tube for that skin aqua) if you don't want that extra white cast look

Oh those foaming cleansers like the Senka Whip REALLY need a washing net to lather it up into huge foaming dense 'whipped cream & egg white' texture. Hold then wet the net under the tap and put a dollop of cleanser on it then scrub the net back and forth with your other hand and behold the awesome texture change. It's part of why people love it. Without the transformation courtesy of the net technique, it's nothing special. PS- Soft Stone Deo-Naturelle is the BEST non-fragranced deodorant on planet Earth. Expensive but especially for hirsute, physically active men it's worth every penny.

In Japan, soap-based face wash is quite popular mainly because people use oil based cleanser first. If you look for “アミノ酸系 (amino acid-based) cleanser you’ll find non soap-based cleansers (which is also common now). Soap based cleanser feels tight cuz it’s more alkaline.

The first sunscreen you used is a “color correcting primer with sunscreen” it has a green tint to cancel out redness!!

the biore sunscreen comes in a few colours, and u choose the colour based on your skin concerns, like colour correcting. the green is good for redness and the violet is good for dullness. been using them both for a good year and they're great as makeup prep too !!

Senka Perfect Whip is the best foaming cleanser. Be sure to get the one with the banner sticker. Put a tiny drop on your palm and add 3 drops water and swirl into your palm to a count of 20 and you’re in for a cleanser treat, 👍

I looove that Hada Labo gold one, it soo moisturizing, my skin feel so soft without make me break out tho I have very sensitive skin, maybe because it is fragrance and alcohol free

There's a yellow Hadalabo Premium is thicker and meant for a bit more mature/dry skin, I believe. There's a blue/white one that's lighter and and even lighter version of it as well which they will label with katakana as ライトタイプ　（Light Type), so if you ask the store clerks in English, they might understand you. That particular Skin Aqua line of sunscreens is very similar to the Biore line which I actually like a bit better. Another similar line is the KOSE brand which has cute designs but I find it to be a bit thicker and stronger in smell than the Skin Aqua and Biore brands.

I bought my sixty-five years old mom hada labo premium lotion and she said her skin is well hydrated. Hada Labo has three series Gokujyun if you want moist skin, shirojyun for brighter skin and alpha for aging skin.

I tried Hada labo lotion, it feels like silk on the skin and very moisturising bit its only for normal and dry skin. For my prone skin it has too much silicone and resulted comedogenic in my case.

I currently use Anthelios 50+ ShakaShake (or whatever it's called!) On my face and I love it

You have to use the first product u presented with foaming net to make it puffy!!!
