The NHS has developed an improved way to collect patient data from general practices. This data is used every day to improve health, care and services through planning and research in England, helping to find better treatments and improve patient care.

Transcript:
The NHS uses your patient data to support planning and research, like deciding where to provide new clinics or GP services, or as with the COVID-19 pandemic informing guidance, government response, and vaccine planning. NHS Digital is the part of the NHS that collects, processes, and makes data available to improve everyone's health and care. And we're making improvements, we're simplifying processes, reducing the burden on general practices and allowing them to focus on patient care. We're also improving data security. You can always opt-out if you like, but we make sure that your data is only used to improve health and care, and we will never share it for marketing or insurance purposes. We hold your data securely and depersonalise it wherever possible, and we only share it with trusted NHS and research organisations who will use it for the benefit of health and care. So you can take pride in knowing that your data is helping to make us healthier, for you, your family, your friends, and your future.

You want some data to collect you should look into the joke which is Newbold surgery/GP because after being waiting in the waiting room for almost 2 hours for a sick note when I snapped 3 ligaments in my ankle "my doctor" came out and told me to hurry up and how he was afraid that I'd left, other incidents include going in with a bad back only to have him just ask me what I'd like him to do about I replied "how about you try doing your job because if I wanted to drugged up I'd find a drug dealer or just order whatever I wanted online....(FYI I hate pain killers and would rather suffer pain then take them and not be able to sleep or eat properly for 3 years)" Now I don't let anyone use my data so how do you opt out of this crap because unless I'm going to A&E or can't find a natural cure I'm not going through the BS my local GP puts everyone through even after booking an appointment. My local hospital isn't much better as well as they've sent me and my best friend home both still fitted with saying this I understand you do your best but chesterfield/Derbyshire needs major improvements unless you'd like to have more people like me who believe I'm better off with a book than a doctor

Sorry for the rant but change is needed here

The nations health meta data has already been given to the private sector.

The reasons were to refine research into more profitable conditions and save the private sector money.

Knowing how prevalent a condition is and knowing how much it costs to treat that condition, also allows for premiums to be worked out for when the NHS is finally privatised.

To many loopholes in GDPR with the use of AI Algorithms they can de-anonomise you identity which after reading the GDPR is perfectly fine and isn't a breach.

How does my wife opt out? She has no fancy tech or clever phone. This discriminates against people who cannot afford digital tech. Is this part of the creeping sell off of practices to American companies?
