Never had any problems, I've re subscribed to your channel because of this video, it takes guts to do what you did!

Thanks for sharing, and appreciate the vulnerability. Really enjoy your channel!
In a similar spot. Was gifted two BMW’s from family members in past. 1997 528i (poorly taken care of) and 2001 540i (meticulously well taken care of) both at around 100k. At that point, as with any car, can become money pits real quick. The 528i was especially. Swore off BMW and bought 2010 GS350 awd in 2013. Been a real treat for all reasons mentioned in your previous videos, but now 180k on 13 yr old car.
Now Debating 2020-21 GX460 or BMW X5 (b58), and gone back and forth. At end of day I think ride is better in BMW and we shall see… but as someone once said “life’s to busy to drive boring cars!”

Mark, this is what makes you from my perspective, the best YouTuber on auto related subjects. You have an unwavering commitment to be honest. None of us are perfect, but many who are doing what you're doing are nauseatingly pro manufacturer than pro consumer.

We all make mistakes, but it takes a real man to admit his mistakes and I'm proud of you for admitting them

Mark, I've been following your channel for a few years now, and I'm very happy to say that your advice on BMW's have been spot on. I have a 2016 7 series 740i with the b-58 engine. It's been a great ride. No problems. I intend to keep it for at least 4 to 5 more years. This is due partly because you have educated me on my B-58 engine, Thank You so much for that. Please continue to move forward and above all, keep telling it as you see it.

You can get reliability in a bmw if you buy something that sticks to their formula: straight 6, manual transmission, RWD. That's your best bet

I've been following your channel for a few months and just recently picked up a used M440i largely because of your comments about the B58 engine. Hope you're right, Brother! Thanks!

This makes me happy. As you know I bought the new X5. Had a 1600km trip. Loved every km of the way.

I had the X2 a couple of years ago with no issues, then the X3M40i and loved it. Now I just bought a X4M40i that I had built. No issues with any of them and honestly I feel like BMW is the most fun and exciting, or at least one of the most exciting. I had a new 2023 Porsche Macan which just didn't have the power of my BMW's. I tried the Macan S with the twin turbo V6 and it had no where near the power and acceleration of the BMW. I also feel like BMW is the most reliable of the German brands. True that Toyota and Lexus are reliable and last a long time, but they are also a little boring. In a day and age where everyone is going to the 2.0 turbo 4's, it is nice to still have the choice of buying a true driver's car. Great video and I appreciate your honesty and as always, enjoy your videos and the great info that you provide.

Every video you say “life’s too short to drive boring cars” We own a boring BMW 320i and we own a 2022 M240i. The M240i is one of the most exhilarating cars you can drive. Because when its all said and done, life really is too short…love your channel and thanks for the honesty.

Your honesty is always something I appreciate. However, there's one thing you need in this video... a "Was I wrong" counter. 😁

Mark, I'm now looking to buy a 2021 or 2022 BMW 745e. I was wondering what your thoughts are on it. Because of the hybrid system I hope it doesn't have any major issues. Or should I just get the 740

I understand what you are saying about now verses the past
I’ve only owned one BMW an M-5
6 cylinder manual transmission
I can’t remember the year 1988 or 1990
I bought it used and had zero problems with it just normal maintenance oil tires brakes I absolutely love the way it drove and how quick it felt off the line it was like a GTO except the M5 could stop and turn and hold five adults
Except for the M badges on the outside it looked like a normal five series it was a great sleeper
I wish I still had it
You are the best YouTuber out there for autos we all like to own
I don’t think you were wrong at all you give very well researched reports that I enjoy
Bravo
My best wishes always from Las Vegas Craig

Agree 100%! Everyone is entitled to opinion, but when it becomes fact - there definitely needs to be change. I really like your channel! Strategy is best complex - singular and variables - to make greatest learning leaps and bounds - every company does that differently. I think they've tried new things maybe not too much but too long? With so much data - will what works (don't fix it) be ok to the majority of consumers or do they prefer style vs reliability? My 07 3xi is doing pretty well. How can I get a better one without issues and $ I'd rather put towards more reliable options vs lifetime cost and ease to maintain that vehicle myself. Thanks!
