ANGLETON, TEXAS — Katelyn Thornley is the 12-year old Texas girl who just can’t stop sneezing.

And we’re not talking about the odd atishoo, since her rare condition began to present itself, poor Katelyn sneezes up to 20 times a minute or 12,000 times each day.

It’s gotten so bad that Katelyn’s abdomen constantly hurts, she suffers from weak legs and has trouble eating. She has even had to drop out of school due to bullying.

In fact, the only time she can get any respite from sneezing is when she listens to the Beatles or during Benadryl-induced sleep.

Her parents are both distressed and baffled by her illness, which started after a clarinet class about three weeks ago.

Local doctors are equally stumped, but have ruled out allergies and viruses as the cause of Katelyn’s non-stop sneezing. Although experts believe it could be a stress-related tic.

But brave Katelyn is not allowing her nasal distress to get her down and says she looks forward to the day when she can look back at her ordeal as the girl who was famous for sneezing.

Katelyn is OK now, she is back at school and she no longer sneezes, the only thing is twitching she can't control. The twitching is caused by stress, it is worse when she is in the crowded hallways. She has dark bags under her eyes so I think she is tired. Her cheek is also bruised from her twitching. But she's back nonetheless and we are happy so...

Had that in my youth too. Kind of. More than 500 times a day wasn't a rarity. My personal record was 736 times in one hour. That wasn't pleasant at all!
I feel sad for her and hope, it will go by, as it does for me.

I think shes faking it and just forcing it while around doctors and media for publicity. What people don't realize is that sneezing expels water and she would be have to drink tons of water daily.
