Joel McCrea was possibly the most under-rated actor in Hollywood. I've never seen him give a bad performance. I've never seen McCrea and Stanwyck in a movie together, but they make a good couple.

Both leads are great. I've met Linda Evans a couple of times and she said Miss Stanwyck was wonderful to her in the 60s when they were both on The Big Valley.

I thought I had seen all the movies that McCrea and Stanwyck had made, but here was a one new to me. These two each had careers that covered several decades. Certainly, well worth while seeing this movie when each was just climbing the Hollywood ladder. Plus, Lloyd Nolan's career may not have been as great, but good to see a solid actor who went on to become a familiar face to millions.

I’ve never heard of this film before. What a discovery it was. Stanwyck & McCrea were outstanding. Camera, dialogue, acting, editing and sound first rate. Paramount knew how to make a good story look good.
