Hazbin Hotel Mysteries Part 1: Is Baxter Trans?

Did you know this in hazbin hotel?

Recently there’s been some discussion in the fandom about whether or not baxter is trans. I’ll break it down.

So as you might’ve seen baxter was revealed to be sir pentious’s replacement in season 2, and we finally heard his voice.

Though this has caused this long running mystery to resurface. Is he trans?

If you’re not aware only female anglerfish have the lure on their head. Baxter has this, but he’s a male.

In the show we also see baxter potentially working for voxtech. Baxter is also an inventor who can create living creatures. So it wouldn’t be too far fetched for him to augment his appearance or change his gender.

Viv is normally very particular with character traits, with them almost always being there for a reason. We’ll just have to wait and see in the full series. What do you think? Let me know down below.

Or maybe Viv put it there to make his species clear, cause that’s the stand-out trait of anglerfish.

That would be cool if Baxter was Trans, but I think Viv only put that lantern head on him because that's what an angler fish is known for having. Even I didn't know that the females are the ones who only have bioluminescence

Then again, it could be an inconsistency. Like how Charmy Bee from Sonic The Hedgehog has a stinger despite being a male bee, and stingers being a female bee trait.

I doubt he's trans because the lure on his head may just be a simple nod to the fact that he drowned in a sinking ship, and when people think of angler fish they think of the lure

Honestly I don’t mind if Baxter is trans or not but personally I think Baxter just gave himself the head lamp thing as a means of helping him incase the power goes out.

Like if the power goes out he could still have some form or light to help him see around his workspace so he doesn’t accidentally knock over chemicals or anything important. Plus with him already looking like an anger fish it would make sense he’s be like “eh fuck it, might as well go all the way with it.”

I think it probably comes from it being the most famous aspect of an angler fish.
There's also a subtext of Baxter being a scientist. Having a light to demonstrate being a "light in the darkness".

I just hope that if he is Trans, the community is going to be sane about it and accept the representation instead of erase it like they do to Alastor and his asexuality. Y'all want representation but everytime I see representation, the fandom actively disregards it. Its funny how that works
