Mortuus introduced a decidedly distinct and different vocal style to Marduk to that of his predecessor, and it was due to his credentials as vocalist in Funeral Mist that Morgan contacted Mortuus by telephone. After careful consideration Mortuus accepted Håkansson's offer to join Marduk.

In contrast to Legion, Morgan has stated that Mortuus has shared his interest in enthusiasm for Marduk's lyrical content, which has notably consisted of subject matter such as Biblical tales, Third Reich history and World War II.

One of the best black metal álbums of all time is “panzer division marduk”, destructive and infernal riffs. That album is absolutelly intense and without Legion, that album is not the same. All hail to Legion!!!

I think the stuff with Mortuus reached Marduk's peak musically, but there's still plenty to find in Legion stuff. World Funeral is a banger from start to finish.

Legion was great but Mortuus did bring something ‘fresh’ that work perfectly with the new sound of Morgan’s creation.

Legion was great ones, but hes vocal was going down over time. One sad thing of being a singer. Mortuus is just as great but even hes vocal are begining to take its toll. But back to the question witch is best... Im on board with the Mortuus supporters.

Legion was in during my favorite era of the band, but honestly with Triumphator, and Funeral Mist Mortuus has gotten better and better imo he fits Marduk and also respects his music as did legion.

Mortuus…w/ Plague Angel Marduk reached the upper echelon of BM. (Funeral Mist is some of the most original BM you will ever hear. One of my favorite bands.)

Legion was a beast live with real frontman attitude. But very linear as a singer, yes very agressive but linear as fuck.
Mortuus vocal range is by far superior. But as a frontman stage pressence is mehh.
By the way for me BEST Marduk album is Those of the unlight, so no Legion no Mortuus.
