Eleven Republican-led states are suing the Biden administration to block the president's latest student loan forgiveness program. The federal lawsuit argues that the Saving on a Valuable Education program, known as SAVE, isn't different compared to Mr. Biden's first attempt at student loan cancellation, which the Supreme Court struck down last year. CBS News White House reporter Bo Erickson reports.

These Republicans need to stop. There’s several helpful factors of the SAVE plan. Eliminating compound interest is one of them and so helpful in actually paying the loans back.

Only a few rich families benefit from expensive tuition, keeping everyone else down. Make education free!

Most students like myself were convinced the degrees would be
A return on investment. I got a difficult job in social work as an APS investigator that paid 40k a year (in my city) and now make more money as a server at a nice restaurant. Community colleges were frowned upon when I was in highschool and my college financial aid office never informed me if my parents worked at the school that children could go for free. Banks won’t even loan students 10k to start a business but colleges and private loans will for classes. It’s a huge scam outside of technical degrees such as lawyers, doctors ect.

PHEW. Thank god for these Republicans. The middle class may have actually been helped by their government. You can't have that in America.

I am all for student loan forgiveness, however just because you don’t make a lot of money doesn’t mean you shouldn’t pay anything. The entire point of an IDR is to pay what you can based off your income.

Going to be hilarious when this is struck down in court, for the 2nd time, because it is 100% illegal and just plain wrong.

As a democrate betrayed by my democratic rep, I believe the government should not pay students debts. Both sides ask for money to pay huge amounts to advertise. The media is cashing in.

Seems like any time politicians want to get around the law, they just declare emergency powers. This is a dangerous road to head down. Unlimited power.

Why don't they do something more important and sue for all allowing our money to go to Israel and Urkrain. Instead they deprive American student a piece of the pie.

If Trump tried this, your Network would call it Bribes for Votes

This is transferring debt from people who took out loans to people who didn’t and shouldn’t have to pay for them.

So who are red states protecting here? The lenders? Why? Are the lenders paying into their reelection campaigns? Betsy Devos I can understand squeezing student loan borrowers because of her family's business, but I have no clue where these folks are coming from.

Good I’m sorry, but if you can’t afford it don’t buy it.

Why should student loan debts be canceled? People who benefit from such cancelations will expect "cancelations" all through their lives!

So why the lawsuit? If they are GOP lead states suing, couldn't the GOP led Congress just block Biden's appropriation of the funds to "forgive" these loans?

College is expensive if you party to much, don’t have a part-time job or choose some dumb a… education.
