I had to retire my 2001 Pathfinder and replaced it with this in the SL trim package. When these first came out, I wasn't so hot on the design, but it grew on my and I'm really enjoying the vehicle. I use it to lug my band gear around to and from gigs and it does that as well, maybe slightly better than my 2001 Pathfinder. With a full load, I can barely tell the cargo is even there as far as the way it handles and drives. Mine is in super black which looks great in the SL trim with the added chrome. And the 13 speaker Bose system is killer. We also have a 2012 Honda Pilot, which we also love and I go back and forth with each without feeling any loss of quality. Love them both.

How was a 2016 Pathfinder reviewed by KBB in 2013? Video says this was published in Apr 30, 2013.

Gene! Good question. From a mechanical perspective the Pathfinder and JX are essentially identical though there might be minor suspension tuning differences and there's likely more sound deadening in the Infiniti. Realistically the differences would be minimal from the drivers seat.

So you're absolutely correct, the looks, material quality and features of the JX are the reasons to buy one. Whether that's worth $15k isn't so clear.

Cheers,
Micah

Even if I'm not interested in this particular car, I watch the video just it cause its KBB and Micah! So I know it will be well produced, informative, esoteric style, not overblown or obnoxious with clever non-overbearing humor. With my limited free-time its nice to know where quality content lies.

Agreed. I have an 04 and wanted to upgrade. Love my current rear biased all mode 4 wheel drive. My 04 plows through everything with ease. Feels durable and the size of it is perfect. Now it's all about 3 rows and a front wheel bias. What the hell Nissan?? This thing makes an RX350 look rugged.

RIP Nissan Pathfinder... this generation sure looks nice in all honesty, there is no doubt about that but I liked the former gens better, I own a R50 pathy (2004) and I love that truck. I am just so disappointed that Nissan and other auto makers have made their SUVs into crossover mall finder/grocery getters.. sigh .

Hey Micah great video as always! I have a question. The Infiniti cousin to the Pathfinder the JX-35 which is of course up scale in looks and interior materials is the additional almost $15, 000 more price tag justified? I think they're both just as quiet and ride the same no? Thanks Micah!

Can you give your technical opinion on the CVT comparing with the ordinary 5- or 6-speed automatic transmission?

the old Pathfinder was a real good SUV, but i gotta admit that this crossover looks nice, and the 2017 one looks even better.

This van (yes not an suv) has been selling good. I see more 2013 pathfinder on the road than the 2013 altima here in canada.

Good review as always! Personally prefer the previous body style of the pathfinder.

I wanted to hate the new PF cuz of the departure from its offroad capabilities. But I can't fault Nissan for it now, realizing they still make the xterra... or I'm assuming they do. I really wanna see the next iteration of the Frontier tho.

Although I have been an SUV purist (4-Runners, Grand Cherokee, ect, ), I have to admit that the new Path does look very nice indeed. But let me get this straight. I just visited Nissan's website and noticed there is no HID or LED headlights or tail light option. For a 2013 vehicle this is very odd. I guess they have to save something for the 2014, 2015, 2016, ... and so on, models
