I can totally “feel” Abraham’s requests. I can remember doing that kind of bargaining with my mother and grandparents for much smaller and less critical requests. I can also feel God’s response because I have been the parent being bargained with as well. I love my children and wanted to teach them so I let them keep going with their requests until I would ultimately have to stop them and let them see the end of my boundaries. Ultimately teaching them boundaries. Every word in the good book is a learning moment. It’s amazing to me how a few words can teach so much.
