While teaching "Music in Film, " I started listening to the different music from different composers. I never realized the influence that Bernard Herrmann had on Danny Elfman. I knew Elfman was inspired by his score for "The Day The Earth Stood Still, " but I never realized just how much. Listen to "Prelude/Outer Space" in TDTESS and then listen to this. Very cool...kind of a "passing of the torch."
