So this song is one of my all time favorite queen songs. It's just a lot of fun, not overplayed, and has good energy. It's a fairly simple bass line, but it's fun. We would play this in my college marching band all the time and it was always a favorite because it's fun to play. The first time each year that we'd play it, we'd always watch the music video for the song to help us as a band get into the "Swing" of things xD
Some of the live fingerings work well, but there are a couple extra notes in the studio version that make the positioning weird if I follow the live version (example is the 5-7-7 in the solo, but shifting down isn't too bad). I'm taking a little liberty with the positionings based on what makes sense in context, vs what I saw live. Note, Deacon doesn't play the 7's in the solo live. If you watch the below videos, he does quarter notes there
2:41 - bar 38/62
2:45 - bar 76, shows last quarter as 2 on D
2:49 - some live stuff, but some bar
3:06 - hear 53-55
3:14- shoes bar 59 with 2 on D and open A. no dead/ghost notes
0:57 - you can see his hand slide (fret 14) and do the hammer on that is consistent throughout the song
1:46 - hand is clearly near fret 3, not fret 8
2:00 - bar 67 starts 7 on A
2:03 - bar 33-36 are low on neck, not middle of it, shows thru 39 (7 on A)
0:33 - fingers - bar 27-28/51-52 strings
0:52 - slide and then bridge finger positions
2:35 - shows 8-10-12 in outro chorus
0:29 - general riff is visible as camera zooms in, shows the hammer/grace
1:16 - bar 39 is middle of the neck, not low, so it has to be 7 on A
1:39 - confirms low hand position in solo
Thanks for watching! Enjoy :)
