35 years later, anyone watching this still feels the energy. RIP Freddie

There were three reasons why this set by Queen was the most successful at Live Aid. First, they had rehearsed for weeks before, nailing down the songs and timing for the twenty minute set. Most other bands in the show didn't even bother to rehearse. Second, Queen was used to playing in massive stadiums and have been quoted as saying they felt more comfortable the bigger the crowd. Third, they had Freddie Mercury, the best front man in rock history, who loved to play with the crowd and make them feel part of the show.

The only singer that sounds just like he's in the studio as he plays live.

You know you’re raising your kids right when you say “Ready Freddie” and they start singing this song 😊

This song goes out to all the beautiful people, he said.

Well, darling, that includes all of us watching years later online!

That slow zoom out to the whole stadium clapping in time at 3:10 is just pure perfection.

0:21 - Brian looking at Freddie playing guitar, like a eagle who travelled 500 miles watching a pigeon flying for the first time. His face is so cute.

Freddie's "take it Brian"
Deacon's disco
Brian changing 3 guitars in one song
