☘️ Want to start fresh and transform your life before 2025? Earlier this year I did just that. When I turned 40 I deleted all my tasks, re-evaluated my goals, and rebuilt my routines from the ground up. In this video I’m sharing the steps I took to reset my life and create new habits that truly align with what matters most to me in this season of my life. If you’re ready for a life reset, or you’re just looking for inspiration on how to change your life, this video is for you! I walk you through how to start fresh, set meaningful goals, and create a life you love. 💖

Lara, this is profound! I’m 70, live alone, and consistently overwhelmed with ‘so much needs doing’. I used to use a planner to document the tasks I accomplished that day. I realized - to whom did I think I had to prove I wasn’t lazy?!? Today you’ve inspired me to start with unsubbing emails. I routinely do that, but more show up uninvited and I think, oh that looks interesting, I’ll read that LATER. But I don’t. It’s time to get real about which ones I truly want and have energy to read. Thank you for sharing this wisdom. 🤗

That's really good. Starting your day on a positive note and being mindfully and deliberately positive. I love that.

“It’s okay that an older version of me was working off of old programming, and I can upgrade anytime” - ahh the self acceptance and freedom of this mind shift! Thank you for this!

This is good work on your part and I appreciate your sharing it. I was your age 30 years ago and I remember the "mid-life" feelings of depression, etc., that hit me then. They're real. But at that time I had no life perspective and absolutely no idea how lucky I was. This is a good time for you to reinvent yourself and we can all do that no matter our ages. However, the older you get, you don't have as much freedom, so I would love for you to realize how very lucky you are. Older people are stuck with things we cannot change, no matter how much we would like to. Many older people are dealing with chronic pain, increased deafness, maybe cancer or some other horrible disease, maybe the dementia of a spouse or the loss of a spouse, etc. I know turning 40 is rough, but you are still so very young. Enjoy this time!

I went after my master's Degree at 44 years old. It has been great. I don't use routines anymore. Just a chore spinner. It's the best! Go you!

I enjoy all your content but this topped the cake! I’ve learned that a lot of my systems aren’t working, my “to do” list is too long, and I lose the drive for goals I want to accomplish. This video really helped me evaluate myself and a better way that is more realistic. I remember you posted a video last November about having December as a trial run for New Year’s. I’m going to give it a try and incorporate your guidance from this video. Thank you! Wishing you peace and joy! 😊

Laura - this is the video I needed to see. I too have had a year clouded by depression and health issues, and having to pull out of all sorts of projects and plans for the year. I have been saying similar things to my clients (I am a career coach) for years, and have even written a program about creating your ideal working life - based on designing it based on your values, what you love doing, giving yourself space to grow. So I resonate with so much that you have said and recommend, especially about TO DO lists.

May the end of the year be peaceful, calm, loving and fun - for all of us.

You seem much calmer, less frenetic and your skin and eyes have a glow to them😊

This is great advice, and exactly what I have been searching for! I really feel a pull to restart my life again as I am also in my 40's now, and I am struggling to find my happiness. Not having any children, something feels like it is missing, but I haven't been able to figure out what that is.

I have been following you for many years on YT, but oh my, I LOVE this shake up! Funnily enough, I totally relate to your journey and I am at the point of creating that new version of myself. I am 42 and have been anxious in some way or another for a very long time. The birth of my son 16 months ago made it a lot worse. And now, I feel like I am at neutral level after being very very down. For the first time in years I really feel that the restlessness isn't working at all. I am safe being relaxed and I am allowed and able to enjoy life as it is. Living from the heart. Thank you for sharing and being yourself Laura! ❤

This was fantastic, and I think one of the most important videos you've made (and I've seen them all!). Thank you for being so open about your struggles and for giving us some new ideas and tools to make some life changes.

Fantastic video. I have been feeling stuck and unmotivated for a while. Dreading every day by thinking I’m so far behind. Ironically most of my todos are self made. I’m retired and can spend my day as I please. Yet I felt guilty if I took time to do what I enjoy doing and stressed if I did what I felt I “should” be doing. It’s time to reevaluate, rethink and try something different.
I watched this video and my ears pricked up. My mind screamed exactly, this is what you need. Thank you for going through your thought process in changing your life. I appreciate the guidance.

Oh girl, you just put all of my spinning thoughts into an organized fashion and really expressed in a way that lightens the load and simplifies the thought process. I love this idea, wiping the slate clean sounds so refreshing. Thank you for sharing.

Wow we must be on the same wavelength Laura! I did the same thing at the beginning of the year. I cut out all busy work type stuff from my to do list. For me, no more than three important things on my to do list for the day. Also I can't emphasize enough how slowing down makes life so much more enjoyable. Even unlikable tasks become calm and more easy to get done.
Bonus: got rid of my smart watch. I realized it was making me feel bad at the end of the day when I didn't meet my steps, activity and sleep goals even though I had and otherwise productive and successful day. Up yours smartwatch! 😁

I really like this video, I'm a couple of years off 40, and this makes sooo much sense.

There are so many "shoulds" and "aught to's" but a lot dont really serve a purpose. One thing I found useful was asking myself "Where is this should coming from?" A lot of time I realized it was coming from me and I could just drop it.

Laura, wonderful information and inspiration. I have been a subscriber since 2019. I am 70 and feeling life is short and options perhaps less. But, you are so on point to encourage transformation as needed to stay positive and make one's life the best it can be. One's health is very crucial. TY for sharing your journey! Aloha, Val :)

I love this! I’ve recently been doing something similar after realising at 45 that I am worthy and if things I do aren’t worthy of my time/energy/effort/money .. then they’re gone. It’s flipping refreshing! Haven’t felt this good, this liberated for a long time!! 💜💜

Thank you for sharing your experience and for the reminder that we can give ourselves permission to slow down and be intentional of what we do in our day.
