I was tagged to join the October Pie Collab! So I'm sharing a couple of PA dutch ones! This is the PA Dutch Pear Raisin pie! Simple and makes great use of fall fruit with a bit of brown sugar and spices!

See my pie crust video at the end for that recipe. Makes 2 crusts which is what you will need.

PEAR RAISIN PIE

3 lb pears, pealed, cored, sliced and cut in half
3/4 C raisins
2/3 C brown sugar
1 tsp lemon zest
1/2 tsp cinnamon
pinch of ground mace
3 tbs corn starch

Add sugar, corn starch and spices to a 1 gallon zip lock bag and shake well to mix.
Add the raisins and cut up pears, and shake it up well in the bag to coat all the fruit.
Place in the pie crust, dot with butter and add 2 capfulls of rum if desired.
Put top crust on, cut in vents.
Bake at 375F for 40 min.
Enjoy a la mode!

This is one channel I can hit the "Like" button before the video even starts. It must be because I like to eat good food. Or at least watch it being prepared. :) And oh my gosh, what a treat that must have been to eat. Wow.

I use that same trick using a zip top bag for a lot of recipes. A clean, easy way to mix things up. I haven’t had Anjou pears, but will have to try them. Thank you for joining in!
