I have both the NYX and Elf lip oils. I use the NYX for pigment and the look mainly. I use the Elf one more for everyday hydration and a slight tint. I’m dark skinned and I agree Jam Session from elf is really the only color I’d recommend. NYX has more pigment but aren’t as hydrating IMO

I love the elf formulation but you are right about jam session being the only color that shows up. Honey talks is okay ish as a neutral gloss but I wish it showed up for me.

My opinions (I'm white and have very sensitive lips)

Milani: Dried my lips, didn't last long, felt closer to lip gloss then I like
Elf: one of the only brands that doesn't dry out my lips, doesn't last long, wish the colors were slightly more pigmented, love the applicator
Nyx: Not super hydrating, lasts okay, better on a lip color then by itself

The Nyx ones are my everyday go to. The shade Status Update is gorgeous and looks very bold on my pale self, so that could be another good one to try for folks with darker skin tones.

wow for me the elf lip oil stays on so well and for a while. it’s my go to for when i’m going places where i won’t be able to reapply a regular gloss so frequently.
