Be Strong and Courageous in Jesus

God not only encourages his people to be fearless, he commands it. God is most glorified in us, when we are most dependent on his strength, not our own.

In Sunday school they taught us song a that led us to believe 'we are weak but he is strong'.

Jesus was supposed to be strong for me. That's where all the hurt and disappointment comes from: unmet expectations that stem from indoctrination.

When God said, Have I not commanded you, it is not commandments to be strong and courageous. But God saying Have "I" not commanded you to go face the enemy's army. And so don't be afraid. This is how I read it even now.

It is impossible to be strong. Even in the strength of the Lord. God must do the work and get the credit, per Joshua 5. God gave him an impossible task to take Jericho. God supplied more than courage. God gave his own solution, and did not take sides.
