Scarborough Fair is a song originally about a guy asking the girl who wishes to be with him to do impossible tasks such as "Tell her to make me a cambric shirt" "Without no seams nor needlework", which is impossible. Its basically saying that all these tasks were impossible to complete in the first place, hence the girl will never be with the guy.

HOWEVER, whats even more mindblowing is that Yamada Tamaru in her SukaSuka rendition of the song switched out the "her" parts with "his", thus suggesting that Willem who wishes to be with the one he loves, Chtholly, will never achieve it. The promises they make with each other, which can be substituted with the tasks in the song, are impossible, and thus they will never be with each other.

Fun fact: "In Medieval times, the herbs mentioned in the song represented virtues that were important to the lyrics. Parsley was comfort, Sage was strength, Rosemary was love, and Thyme was courage." Thus you can start to piece together how the song depicts Willem's and Chtholly's struggles, their qualities, and their story as she rushes towards the battlefield to her death.

Siempre que escuchó esta canción, me recuerda a esa escena. Una bella, hermosa, pero trágica historia y una canción que trasciende los siglos hasta la actualidad.

Are you going to Scarborough Fair?
Parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme
Remember me to one who lives there
She once was a true love of mine
Tell her to make me a cambric shirt (in the deep forest green)
Parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme
(Tracing of sparrow on snow-crested ground)
Without no seams nor needle work
(Bedclothes the child of the mountain)
Then she'll be a true love of mine
(Sleeps unaware of the clarion call)
Tell her to find me an acre of land
(A sprinkling of leaves)
Parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme
(Washes the grave with silvery tears)
Between the salt water and the sea strands
(And polishes a gun)
Then she'll be a true love of mine
Tell her to reap it with a sickle of leather
(Blazing in scarlet battalions)
Parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme
(Generals order their soldiers to kill)
And gather it all in a bunch of heather
(A cause they've long ago forgotten)
Then she'll be a true love of mine
Are you going to Scarborough Fair?
Parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme
Remember me to one who lives there
She once was a true love of mine

This song is like what the princess asks in fairy tales to the princes coming to propose to her

Originally writen by Simon & Garfunkel this song fits perfectly to the show. as you start to understand the lyrics (Uchiha Itachi thank you captain). The perfect melancholy and sorrow make drop a tear every time i hear it. Especially after watching anime. Yamada Tamaru took a perfect song and made it even better with her soothing voice and melancholic tone. Definietly one of my favourites.
