There is an aspect of the prefix which is not at all philosophical, and really has to do with the fundamental properties a given program's goal architecture is built around (per my limited understanding).

Actually, a human being can pulse scalar waves to bend the entire electromagnetic field... quantum entanglement is at every ZERO-POINT. The photons respond to the scalar will instantly... it is the unwavering will which appears to solidify within this holographic illusion of form.

Even if the goal of making "beneficial" AI is admirable in some people's opinion (not in mine opinion - I even think it's dangerous). It always looked to me like a classical over-engineering type of system development. Not only that we don't know how to build an efficient AGI, but we also need to make it beneficial. To me this shows that some people in the AGI community have no idea how to even begin building a real AGI since they fall into such an easy to spot trap of bad software development.

Nice, but please, please get rid of the "beneficial/friendly" prefix. It's just such a bad goal put in front of the researchers and so missliding to the general public. If we ever going to achieve what Goertzel is proposing we need to drop the philosophical dogma as soon as possible and get practical about this "problem" of AGI.
