Fly Tying Video: Rockfish Deceiver

Показать описание
Black Rockfish are opportunistic predators and sometimes feed voraciously on a variety of baitfish - making them vulnerable to a cast-and-strip presentation with a wide range of baitfish fly styles. I wanted to create a fly in the Lefty's Deceiver style that Rockfish would eat with gusto. Experience with these fish and other flies informed me that these colors should be effective, and indeed Rockfish do eat this Deceiver. I like the big eyes, but you can tie the fly with painted-on eyes if you wish, and that is more in keeping with the original Deceiver fly style.

I love watching you tie. It reminds me that is not a race.

Jay, another beautiful fly. I agree with you, I use the holographic eyes to. There's nothing like them to bring life to your fly.

I have been watching your videos and wish you could provide links for the materials you have used for whichever video you post so I can check your website and look for products I can use. I am not a professional fly tier but just an avid saltwater angler. I would like to learn how to tie my own flies for saltwater rockfish/lingcod in San Francisco Bay Area. I don't know if they would work for deep saltwater fishing. I can buy pre-tied commercial shrimp flies from P-Line but I want to have my own special shrimp flies.

Really enjoy these videos. Where do you get your material? More importantly is there anywhere you can buy in bulk?
