Why Tour Pro's Are Better Than You... And What Secrets You Can Learn.

European Tour and PGA Tour Pro's are good, infect they are better than good, they're plain awesome at golf. But why are they so much better than the club handicap golfer? The Low handicap, the mid handicap, the high handicap? They have the best golf equipment, the longest drives, the best short games on the planet. What do tour pros do so well? What is the secret to good golf? in this video I walk a few holes at Kingsbarns Links with Jonathan Jigger Thompson, a young up and coming European tour pro. This video is part 2 in a series of videos at kings barns I did with Jigger.

Hi James,
Great advice from jigger "learn from your bad shots not you good shots". Even though I am a high handicapper I leave the driver and my 5 wood out it the bag and take 3 wood and 2 iron! Yes a 2 iron off the tee even if it's not the cleanest of hits it rolls for miles on a links course! ( providing its a straight shot ha ha).

Absolutely stunning course. Great to hear how holes are played. His swing is so smooth. That really helps remind me that you only need to swing 80% and not out of your shoes. Smoother swing and making better contact makes the ball really go. Thanks.

I played Oakmont with 5 holes set up with U.S.open rough thr year prior to the 2007 U.S. open. Practice rounds give pros a huge advantage.

Played Carnoustie 3 years ago and the starter said think about every that and shot my best round upto that point of 103 - only been playing 18 months by then - same ball all the way. Thats the biggest lesson in about 20 seconds. No more death or glory for me

That must have been an awesome experience and he seems a real nice gentleman, I would practice on keeping a lower ball flight and practice on hitting my long irons better

What would I change about my bag?

For starters I’d swap out at least one of my 2 hybrids for a driving iron. Possibly both! As it is I’m considering swapping out my 4i 818h1 just to have something a little more penetrating for windy days.

Aside from that, I’d probably lower the loft on my 3wd for more runout. I think the rest of my bag is ok!

Don’t hit the ball in left bunkers (for a right handed golfer) as you are likely to get unlucky with the stance, lie or swing you have for the bunker shot, vice versa for lefty’s

Just be smart about it all and hope for the best👍
