Allison Pearson has written an article in the Telegraph today about Peter Lynch, querying why such an unwell man was jailed for shouting and holding a placard for nearly three years protesting about immigration after the Southport massacre. Lots of comments agreeing with her. Thank you Allison for standing up pretty much alone in the MSM.

I watched Farage on day time tv where he did mention Peter and how Starmer had blood on his hands, don’t be so fast to judge people before knowing the facts.

Driving a car at people is assault with a deadly weapon. This is an American law that should be introduced in the UK.

This lawyer is so wrapped up in his law books he has completely forgotten about common sense.

The CPS's own website says their first stage is:- "This is the first stage in the decision to prosecute. Crown Prosecutors must be satisfied that there is enough evidence to provide a "realistic prospect of conviction" against each defendant on each charge." This case was thrown out of court after just 3 hours - why was it brought to court? why was the police officer named? and why did it take 2-years to bring it to court? This action is said to have caused 25% of armed officers to leave this sort of duty thus endangering the public, it took two years of the officer's life and has (by naming him) put his life at risk. Heads must roll at the CPS.

I am no fan of the police in this country, but the blaming the police for targeting black youths when the reality is that black young men are disproportionately involved in violent crime and gangs, isn't helping at all. The police need to be able to deal with this situation without fear of being called racist all the time. This is exactly how the situation got out of control in the USA. We are heading down the same path here in the UK.

I can't be bothered with Farage anymore, he's just proving he's another one we can't trust!!
Rest in peace Peter.
God bless all Christians and other peaceful religions/people out there.

British overseas budget should be zero for a year or too. The 🇬🇧 is in an economical emergency.

Lawyer completely inept.
There is a distinction between the ordinary person in the street and a firearms officer. The officer has a job to work with a gun. The tools of his trade are inherantly lethal. There is not much of a target above a steering wheel. It's not like a B&Q worker picking up an axe from the tool department and chopping a sitting prime minster's head off and stealing the expensive glasses that fall to the floor. The B&Q worker's job is to serve people and not to give them a haircut with an axe.
Muppet.

Moat was lying in a field, not the same as trying to kill people in a two ton AUDI.

I would like to consider JJ’s point that they have only had 100 days (I think I have heard that number for the last month! I thought days are added daily) but they have been in opposition for the last 14 years and unless they are walking around with their heads up there ass, they are fully aware of the issue which means they could have been preparing for it over the last year, so they could hit the ground running.
Just saying!!

Just because Paul Britton looks like Stan Laurel, he doesn't need to act like him. He starts off by referring to the officer as a murderer when he has been acquitted. He then claims that if anonymity is to be granted to one profession it should be available to all.
This is an asinine stance, the job of police officer is unlike any other civilian role. For starters it is the only profession where life would be taken intentionally to uphold the law..
A death on a building site may come about by negligence or accident. If a builder attacked another builder it would automatically become clear that there was intent to cause physical harm.

This was clearly not the case here. A dangerous individual was given ample warning before he was shot to prevent the situation escalating further. His aggressive driving had the potential to cause significant harm to people in the area.

The person who pulled the trigger's job s to put himself in harm's way. When he does this and tragedy occurs he should be granted full anonymity unless found to have acte unlawfully.

Remember, police officers are obliged to wear their names on their uniforms and this means he will henceforth be identifiable whenever on duty.
I really used to believe that lawyers were super smart. I remember following the career of George Carman and being amazed at the brilliance of his mind. Then we get a 'top' KC in the top job and that belief has withered away.
