Just depends on the rider really.... performance wise V4 is just as good as crossplane inline 4 but when it comes to sound I lean more toward aprilia v4, it just sounds so good no matter what rpm you're at, while the R1 only sounds good on high rpms full open throttle

Longer wheel base would have reduced time as r1 is entangled in wheeling.

Yamaha R1 998cc 200hp 112Nm Torque
R1 got way better electronics. it isn't a drag bike, yet it can catch up or even (with good rider) it surpasses the Aprilla which is good bike as well. at track; R1just kills it. it might overlap that bike at long run.

That is NOT an R1!!!! That is an R1S. it's weaker, heavier, and doesn't have a quickshifter or the same electronics
