I watched this live, but I wanted to thank you for using a second board for playing out live moves, and for not using overlays to cover up entire games.

Thank you so much for the second analysis board. It's nice to see that you guys read the comments and use the feedback of the fans and viewers to make the speed chess championship as great as it can possibly be.

If there is one thing that should be pointed out about these games, it is the solid play of these two players; there is no better way to improve positional understanding, long term maneuvering and strategic play than by watching how Karjakon and Meier do it. The other match I can recommend, is the one between Grischuk and Rapport, which displays some explosive tactics and is a real lesson in combination and attacks. All in all, this Speedchess tournament is a great opportunity for everyone to learn.

Thank you for putting up the second board, makes it so much easier to follow your analysis and also be able to refer back to the actual position

What in the world will make you stop having Jennifer Shahade as a commentator !

Interesting, I finally got around to finishing this, and at the end, the German speaks of "pace". He didn't say "I needed to speed up" or "I was too slow". In Nietzsche's writing, he often writes of this concept of "pace" or "tempo", claiming men and women have different paces, and that there is even a variety of pacing in the writings of various people from different nationalities. I definitely agree with Georg Meier here, he didn't have the groove, because his opponent was throwing him off with his skill. Not a surprising result, but I was definitely rooting for Meier. Oh well, on to the next one.

I'm calling Grischuk winning the tournament. If not, would LOVE to see Carlsen-Karjakin in the final!

I'd pay for John Bartholomew commentary

When will chess.com hire Simon Williams & Robert Hess for commentary in these events.. I mean Danny is doing a good job, but wouldn't it be better to have at least one really strong and very popular GM analyzing these GM vs. GM battles? I think it would be good not only for the fans but also for chess.com itself...

Karjakin looks so mad for losing his 3100+ bullet rating at the end lmao

I think it's worth noting their humbleness, it's hard to see that in other players of their level. I really enjoyed this match!

take a shot every time Jennifer says counter-play

I think he does good with commentary. He's learning not to interrupt the player boards as much. To me, his voice is good. She could do with a better mic.

My greatest congratulations to Karjakin for that ultimate burping at 4:01:45, and staying so cool after that!

Was looking forward to watching this, but sadly after just one game I had to stop to catch a break from that shrieking voice of hers. No disrespect to Shahade, maybe just not suited for commentary (although good analysis). Mic and production to blame as well probably. No way I could listen to that for 4 hours. Hoping for Hess or the one and only Ginger GM for the next one :)
