Показать описание
The pride of the country and its historical heart, Mt. Lovcen is the first among many things to see in Montenegro. It rises from the Adriatic Sea like a giant wall, blocking early morning sun and because of its huge shadow, it is known to be the “black mountain” Montenegro is named by.
Drive up the Old Austro-Hungarian road from Kotor to reach the top of Lovcen will leave you breathless, as the view of Boka Bay and the open sea reveilles below you.

Do mind that driving this road yourself can be stressful as the road dates from the 19th century, and now, being protected by UNESCO, can’t be changed with size, so it is always better option to join a tour or take a taxi, as there is no public transport.
Lovcen is one of five national parks of Montenegro! It is abundant with limestone and diverse wildlife, but the main reason people come here is to visit the highest mausoleum in the world, where the greatest ruler of Montenegro, Petar II Petrovic Njegos, rests. This imposing monument is located at the altitude of 1660m (5446 feet) at the Lake Peak (Jezerski Vrh), and to get there will require walking up 461 stairs. May seem like a trouble, but once you see the view from the top (up to 70% of the country visible) you’ll forget all the ‘’hassle’’.
Knowing this, we have created - what now became our best-selling day-trip – Great Montenegro Tour, that includes Old Austro-Hungarian road, Lovcen NP, Njegusi village, Lovcen Mausoleum,Old Royal Capital of Cetinje, River of Crnojevic, and St. Stefan, all acompanied by a professional, English speaking, tour guide telling you all about it.
