Seems like the scammers manipulated the lady who was arrested into being a money mule.

Old people need to be kept off computers for their own good. Too many of them easily fall for online scams.

"He had a really good smile". Jeez lady I have a nice smile, can I have $50, 000?

Having studied these romance scams for years, I am pretty sure the woman who was handcuffed was just as much a victim as the woman who lost the money. These Nigerians are the real villians here. They likely told the woman in custody that they were "paying her back" or some such story.

Why is she even sending money to someone she does not know. This been happening for years. Buying love?🙄

Don't get how a Nigerian IP address gets tied to the woman in cuffs. Does she somehow transfer the money from the victim and gets a cut? Or, if she is guilty, was the one doing the whole scam? I don't get it.

It the IP Address goes back to Nigeria that woman was probably being swindled herself at some level. Those scammers over there are absolutely ruthless. They take no prisoners.

I’m willing to bet the lady arrested had no clue what was going on. She doesnt come off as very smart. Someone else said it, she was probably used as the money mule.

If she was pretending to be in Afghanistan, why not send her there for real? We don't need her here.

If the ip came back to Nigeria then that means she’s a money mule for someone in Nigeria.

Yet they do nothing for men who get scammed.

It's stunning how many people, in a desperate attempt to find love, are so willing to send people money they've spent their whole life saving up. I know how hard I worked for my money. You better believe I'm not giving up for some catfish romance. Better to be lonely with your money than scammed, still lonely and without your money.
