Hmm ... I'd be worried about the label causing a balance issue with that spinning disc. I used to have all kinda of trouble with off-center labels back in the day.

Jewel cases are much better for long term storage since there is no direct contact to disc surface. I remember when I tried to read my old CD-Rs stored in plastic sleeves and they were literally glued together after few years.

Im starting to get into this way of storing things. What do you mostly use it for? As in what are the most important files you back up. Thanks.

You know a lot of people have noticed that the last 10% of the disc usually has the most errors. This has been true so much that some people intentionally only write about 85% of the disc because they don't trust writing the full amount. There's another reason that when the discs degrade usually the disc rot starts at the outside of the disc and seeps in towards the center.

I wonder if you're making double copies anyways, whether it might make sense to try to write the files in opposite order such that the last files at the edge of one disc are written to the innermost area of the other copy. Obviously this might sound like overkill because M discs are supposed to be robust, but it is something to think about. I realize that this would probably be a hassle to have to do in practice.

I heard mumbling about M-Discs having changed manufacturers and are not actually the original discs/chemical process. I heard they're basically just like any other BD-R disc. Thoughts?

We need a blu ray successor.
i use 100gb dics since 128gb ones are not available in europe for some reason but 100gb is not enough tbh.
Maybe sony introduces something new with the PS6 since we now have games larger than 150GBs.

Uh-oh. You NEVER, EVER place any sticky decals or labels on an optical disc. It will eventually come off and create havoc in the optical drive.
