I know the story. I have seen him in Amsterdam in 1992 but knew him already from the seventies. Most people know him from his hits but if you listen to his albums he makes music in all kinds of styles; laid back, funky, jazzy, symphonic, fusion, you name it and all very musical with top notch musicians and his voice is great. Love his music.
