The 15, 000 figure is bullshit. The figure appears to come from a 2014 study from UCLA Law School's Williams Institute on Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Law and Public Policy. It estimated that 15, 500 transgender individuals were on active duty or serving in the guard or reserve forces. This is from a non-military source and is a PURE estimate. DOD says they have under 3000 trans personnel- who, btw, are all NON-deployable because of the requirements of transgender medications. They are an expensive and useless drag on the military.

For transgenders to be qualified to enlist and for normal people like me to be permanently disqualified is the biggest insult ever.. Hopefully because of trump I will finally be able to join the military 12 years after a disqualification for a disability that I've never had.
