Polish Alumni Association and Institute of Law Studies of Polish Academy of Sciences invites to the seminar:

'Crime of genocide – reflections by prof. David F. Forte'

During our seminar we would like to draw the attention to the American approach to the crime of genocide. What was the history of approval of the UN Genocide Convention in the US? What was the role of Rafael Lemkin and senator William Proxmire in final acceptance of this Convention? Why did it lasted almost 30 years to accept the Convention by the US government? How prof. Forte is assessing the current global events through the lenses of this Convention? And how prof. Forte conceptualizes the “push-backspolicy” of migrants on the Polish Eastern border?

The seminar will be hosted by prof. Karolina Wierczyńska, Associate Professor of the Institute of Law Studies of Polish Academy of Sciences.

The seminar is carried out thanks to the cooperation between Polish Alumni Association and Center for Research on International Criminal Law, ILS PAS and Department of Criminology ILS PAS.
