I hate it when people fearmonger for no reason... the other day I found some people under the reviews of skincare products I want to buy saying how the products were good, but bc they contain parabens they'll be staying away.

I think paraben-based preservative systems are one of the least-irritating options out there, which seems like what you'd want for a brand like CeraVe, which is designed to be inert and usable by those with sensitive skin or who are using sensitizing medications (e.g., prescription retinoids). I remember when the paraben-free thing was first taking off in the 2000s and some independent brands switched from paraben- to isothiazolinone-based preservative systems, and people started reporting irritation and sensitization.

My dad told me about a face wash for acne he used as a teen in the 70s that used chemicals to legit burn the acne off the shriveled up and fell off but left you with awful scars and sensitive skin. He said they discontinued it in the 80s. So we must be glad for skincare products these days having so much regulations and research behind them so we don't have to nuke our acne anymore

I wish I could tag the company that makes my old holy grail moisturiser. They reformulated to make the moisturiser paraben-free and the new formulation irritates my skin 😭

I really like your approach and appreciate you channel! I like how you spread information that is scientifically correct. I also use CeraVe and other similar drug store brands because my skin is very sensitive but I am worried about the environmental effect. Could you do a video about petrolatum, silicones and carbomer in skincare and what happens when they are constantly washed down the drain (in the form of moisturizers, washing products etc)? I would really appreciate such a video from you because I trust you. ☺️🌻
