Dan Barker speaks in proposition of the motion that This House believes that God is a delusion. Mr Barker is a former evangelical Christian preacher. He is the co-President of the Freedom from Religion Foundation (alongside his wife Annie Laurie Gaylor) which campaigns for the separation of church and state.

I am continually amazed at how many assume that there is one god considering that for most of history humans have believed in many gods at the same time. Monotheism is a recent concept.

The illusion of design comes from human arrogance. The vast majority of complex things (living things, snowflakes, etc) are not actually designed. Even the processes of design that humans use have very evolutionary (natural selection) elements to them.
