Czech Army's four-week school to boost numbers and learn weapons skills

As instructors shout commands, dozens of students taking part in a pilot Czech army programme aimed at boosting fledgling enlistment numbers crawl through forest scrub and learn weapons skills.

Like most former Soviet satellite states now in Nato, the Czech Republic has missed recruitment targets for years and is struggling to maintain troop levels.

Some 14,700 soldiers currently serve in the Czech army, but this number has left units understaffed and unable to reach combat readiness.

2:22 "Back in the Czech Republic" ... and then they show a Polish girl. Are you guys blind? Can't you see the flag on her arm? Or her name? Or hear her Polish speech? Wtf.. such editorial mistakes from a nearly 1m sub channel.
Also, Poland, Czechia and other countries mentioned here, are from Central Europe, not Eastern Europe! Russia and Ukraine are Eastern Europe. Not Poland. You even said that Poland is "the largest country in eastern europe"... What? What about Russia? Who wrote the script for this video!?

Poland is cool. They definitely realize all the danger and need for the strong army. No only that, Poland is also become home for a lot of Belarusians who do not agree with their regime. Also they accepted about a million of Ukrainian refugees. Poland is really a stronghold of democratic Slavic nations, and the shield of NATO.

🇯🇵The way the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force fought has been focused on training to stop the Soviet army, mainly in Hokkaido, since the Cold War, and from the perspective of a peaceful nation that does not invade overseas, they have been digging trenches in their own training grounds. 🇺🇦A former Self-Defense Force officer who participated in the Ukrainian War said that this was a good match for the current situation in Ukraine. Perhaps 🇯🇵Japan Ground Self-Defense Force units could be responsible for training.

I used to love the H&K G-3, we got a chance to fire them back in the cold war when deployed to Germany. More precise and dependable especially in a sand environment than our FAL.

Just like cadet summer school in South Africa in the 80s.

Give any county 4 weeks with everyone over 18 training, and if anyone invades they are going to have a seriously hard time, have vaults all over cities so when or if the time comes every citizen has a weapon, and ammunition drones included and training to use them. Give access to their weapons every month to practice at a range, even have a year competition to encourage training.

There are a few cities right now that could benefit from this a lot or ensure no enemy even bothered trying to invade.
Sadly, if wars continue and drones are available to everyone, we might actually need something like this.

No, not just "any other modern military". More like, most European nations, that didn't spend the required amount on defense that NATO required, and are now playing catch up in high schools. I also understand he can't say that on camera.

That was a pants video - I hope you people are not paid for this lash-up, it was appalling. Czechs speak er, Czech, Poles speak Polish and you know those little emblems on the side of their arms... kind of gives the game away as to what nationality they are and the army they serve.

I wish I could look as cool as this guy why doesn’t the army allow me to have a mustache and a beard?

Most British kids have never even seen a rifle, they will probably get triggered.

Put us all very minimally on reserve! People who really don't want to fight but aren't severely disabled should do a day's training every other year so that if push comes to shove, they know how to strap a rucksack, dig a trench, or some first aid, and what all the bits and bobs of war are called. Able-bodies in receipt of state assistance should be offered a little extra in return for maintaining greater readiness. That doesn't fix 'lack of fighters', but it would put the armed forces in regular direct contact with nearly everyone who might consider joining them, while ensuring that should the worst case materialise the population isn't 100% useless livestock to herd.

Only thing British taught Czechs is how to parade and wear berets.

NATO needs to reverse left wing police gun control and restore management of ranges back to the Professional Army (Engineers) and support service match competitions with service ammunition!
