Last year I had a back and forth on YT with a delivery rider. He spent his first year or so on a typical small wheel scooter. He drew up a list of features for the perfect scooter everything from big wheels to ABS and the Honda Sh he reckons is near perfect.

I bought one of these for my nightly commute to work and leisure trips around the peak district. Firstly I want to say I'm always pleasantly surprised by it. It handles long journeys and two traffic very well. Storage space is excellent with the underseat space, the large top box and even a little side compartment to place my Oxford lock or bits and pieces.
It manages 50mph perfectly even 60mph. I haven't took it past that yet.
Headlights are great and illuminate the road brightly enough with the LED bulbs even in the direst weather, fog, heavy downpours. On windy days the bike remains stable.
One thing is going uphill on windy days, it struggles and I've been pushed down to 35mph which leads to a few cars behind me. I'll need to research why.
Apart from that, it's a fantastic scooter and, I've learned, the most popular scooter in Europe for daily commuting.
Styling is nice, I like it. It's modern lines are enough for it to stand out and look attractive.
I like the stop start option, very handy at traffic lights and junctions, also the pass headlight switch which saves flipping back and forward from high to low beam, I just let go and it's back on low beam which is just a convenience.
Honda also made a great move in making it keyless, the security for this is obvious.
Your video is super informative and covers everything thankyou. I've subscribed and am looking at the 300cc version of this scooter for the future now :)

Wow. A perfect review 😳 thanks mate ! Well done. I have 45.000 miles of SH125i riding experience 😀 an SH is probably one of the best scooters in the 125 market.

Tank capacity is actually 7 litres. As an owner myself, it's lovely and nice power for a 125, engine is not strained even at higher speeds.

best city scooter, very stable and safe, great engine, i recommend a shield, grip heater and hand wind shields. my SH needs 2, 3-2, 4 Liter/100 KM, very high quality, made in atessa, ital. most sold scooter there, not piaggio/vespa. the big wheels will help you in every situation on a bad street.

I'll never say never on scooters in general, just not right now. I think listening to reviews like yours is very helpful and comforting so I know what to expect when the day comes when I decide to give it a go.

'Pillon comfort' Definitely should be included on all future reviews!

Nice review again Exmouth !
I really believe that 125cc is the perfect size for a scooter. Adequately powerful for use on fast roads, super nippy around town and not too much weight to deal with.
This is a really useful little vehicle for the money. I like the normal sized wheels as well. Much better on bad roads and less twitchy handling. This one seems to have decent storage and if you have the top box for your helmet, the whole underseat area is up for grabs. Very practical. This one seems to have a good top speed for a 125 too.
As a replacement for my Malaguti 50 I could be tempted. I need to get rich first though 😂
Nice one Dave !
Cheers,
Brian and Nipper

This is an awsome review of this scooter. The top box makes the pillian feel rather secure. To be fair I am a bit light at a little over 10.5 stone.
The bike feels more comfortable the more I carry.
I have heated grips on mine, so I turn off stop start in the winter, it will stop working anyway as the battery loses power.
You did a review of the voge and said you were off roading on country lanes lol.
I've delivered to places like this in pitch black. The lights are amazing, only down side is, you can't see what is too your side, I actually drove into a large pot hole due to this and saved by the large wheels.
How large was the hole, no idea, but I was thrown up a good foot out of the seat.

Lovely scooter, I’m using it over 10 years, different models.
Never let me down,
I traveled long distance as well.
But, ONLY 1 PROBLEM !!
No hazard ⚠️ lights !!
Then I fixed it my self.

You can say anything about this scooter but not that has bad brakes. I had this scooter for two years, sold it and buy SH 150 2024, basically same bike, only reason I bought it again are the smoothness and the brakes. Has the best brakes I’ve ever had on a scooter. And I ride many scooters

I love these 125cc reviews. You're one of the few who does them. I can't make up my mind between the SH125 Mode or the Vision 110. The Mode seat height is 76.5cm but the weight is 118kg. The Vision is only 110cc and the seat is 78.5cm but the weight is only 100kg. Can't decide whether to get a scooter that is very light to chuck around and move about or one that can be completely flat footed.
This is a beautiful review😊

Thanks Exeter. I have a four year old sh, i was considering changing to a pcx. However it has smaller wheels a rear drum brake with no abs, exposed chrome handlebars and wiring. The sh has just been refreshed, so to speak. With a matt coal black metalic colour.

I have an SH125i and its brilliant! 2 little gripes - the fuel tank is bit small and the ride can be a bit harsh on our crappy roads! Otherwise it is fast, and a real pleasure to ride. Honda have done a remarkable job with the engine.

This is the most thorough review you have ever done on any machine, Thank you. About the top speed: at one point you got 73 mph on the speedo, but of course this will be quite optimistic. The GPS speed will be more like 63-65mph tops. The other downside is that the SH doesn't have much room under the seat, compared for example to the Piaggio Medley which can fit TWO full face helmets. The Medley also has a front compartment and USB port there, whereas Honda rather stupidly put the charging port underneath the seat instead of near the dash, and it now has no locker at the front which I think is a really poor oversight considering its cost.

I loved my 3 x SH125i machines. I also owned a SH300i, which was excellent though noticeably heavier than the 125. Really frustrating Honda doesnt offer the SH150i here which has the benefit of the light weight of the 125 with useful extra horsepower. That 68mph is more like 60mph GPS speed. I'd image the SH150 would add at least another 5mph which would be very useful on the open road.
