Yes I am brand new to homeschooling!! And have a kindergartner as well....shes my youngest and my only girl. I never even dreamed of homeschooling my 3 boys but with what's going on I think it's the best move for my daughter this year...my 10 yr old was excepted into an amazing charter school and I'm confident that he will do very well there. My oldest boys are out of school (19 & 20) But anyways I've been obsessing for a month trying to perfectly prepare for this and I'm loosing my mind! Thank you so much for the tips!!

I needed this! lol don’t do school at home! No wonder I get the strange stares when I tell them to raise their hands and hold their questions until the end 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Feeling a little nervous about starting kindergarden. But listening to this I realize I've already been homeschooling my boy in many ways. Like building lego sets together - learning to follow instructions/counting. Answering his questions about clouds, or water tanks, or smoke detectors. We usually watch a video together on the topic, and I refresh myself to how it all works so I can continue to explain it to him over and over untill he finds a new fascination. He does know some letters from preschool last year. When we are at a mall or whatever waiting around he will point out letters he recognizes, like the ones in his own name, I will play a little I spy of "can you find a letter T" ex. I have just been kinda doing that naturally and I think a lot of homeschooling is like that - incorporating learning into day to day life

Omgoodness!! Yes! This has been me exactly this year. This is my first year homeschooling. My son is in kindergarten. And I realize (and finally accept) that he hates school. And I've been trying to stay with it because I spent wasmoney on a few curriculum subjects. But I realize that I need a redo! So I'm revamping everything! 🤦🏾‍♀️ Because I want him to love school! I am saving this video. Great simple advice. Thank you so much!! Now I know where to go from here.

Reading and math are the most important, everything else is totally extra. Well said.

So what would you say is the end goal for kindergarten? To be sure they're ready for first grade. I don't know if we're moving along at the right speed or not. 🤷🏽‍♀️

Really good stuff! I am using Abeka Math and All about Reading for Kindergarten. I am not finished with this curriculum yet since we moved and had another baby this year. Should I continue pressing through July and August right up to the next year or finish the remaining 1.5 months during the school year? I have an almost 6 year girl, 4.5 girl, 2.5 girl, and 4 month old girl. By the way, my channel is a lot about homeschooling too. Just starting though at 250 subs. Way to go on your 2, 000! :)
