Lec-22: Stop and Wait ARQ protocol | Data link layer

Stop and Wait ARQ (Automatic Repeat Request) protocol is a simple error control protocol used in data communication. It is a feedback-based protocol, where the receiver sends an acknowledgment (ACK) to the sender after successfully receiving a packet.

What happens when the ack take more than time-out time.
For ex: Sender sends 0th frame, ack of 0th frame takes more than time-out time and then sender sends again the 0th frame and the receiver sends again the ack for 0th frame and at this time the first ack of 0th frame as well as the second ack of 0th frames reaches the sender. What will the sender do?
