I have an Historic '56 Les Paul 10 years.old I was running 13s but my health prevented me from playing for about 5 years. Now that I'm well again I've decided to start playing again but not with 13s. Took it to Wild Horse guitars in Sydney where Warren sorted it out and he's done an amazing job on it. Back with a more sensible string gauge [10s] and a fret job it plays and sounds incredible. He installed a "no holes" DUESENBERG LES TREM VIBRATO after talking me out of a Bigsby (thanks Warren). Ooooo she's so sweet.

Damn that guitar sounds good. I just have a problem with P90's and noise.

P90's are my favorite, I have a 2018 Les Paul Classic gold top with P90's, I didn't see any justification for spending so much more for the historic, $1800 for my badass....a little heavier than the historic as it's not weight relieved.

some say the sound come fomr the pickups only...but i somehow cannot think its true!...when i hear a reissue and a poor cheap model with great pickups it doent sound the same...no?

"True Historic" ...but it has a more modern to-piece bridge and tailpiece.

Apart from the binding and the ABR I see and hear nothing that makes me believe this is a superior product to my 50's tribute. In fact I know its a dick thing to say .. but sincerely .. my 2013 sounds better.
