MY BEST DAY ON THE BIKE | GIRONA COASTAL CYCLING ROUTE | AND THE FAMOUS CAKE SHOP

Sorry this is a little late - finally got round got round to uploading quite possibly one of my best days on the bike ever. It's the cycling adventure and cycling route that had it all - leaving Girona's beautiful town for hills, incredible coastal views, historic buildings, sea view switchbacks, the beach, a cake shop and a cycle through a tree nursery - my idea of absolute heaven.

I honestly thought I was going to burst in to tears of joy at multiple points of this route, it was so breathtaking. 120km of pure bliss! I've seen people do different variations of this route (longer, shorter etc) we made a purposeful journey to the famous cake shop after Ise learned about it from a pro cyclists podcast / vlog. And it was SO worth it. Feel free to nick the route for Girona cycling inspiration.

I’m your classic runner turned newbie cyclist.

For years I feared riding a bike - I was afraid of traffic, clipping in, couldn’t get my head around lycra, chamois cream and clambering up hills on a bike.

I didn’t believe that riding a bike would give me the same de-stress, mental download or sense of freedom that life as a long distance runner had given me before my knees ground to dust.

Fast forward to 2021 and picking up a second hand CAAD10 changed my life for the better. Not just physically and mentally. But also providing a sense of community and belonging - which is magic. The cycling community is just magic.

So I’m here. To hopefully inspire others to not fear the bike - the lycra, the clipping in. And come share the passion, freedom and indescribable joy that comes from being on the bike. I truly believe that the bike life is the best life and everyone should be able to enjoy it.

Really enjoyed your video. I would like to try your route. Looks better than my route to San Feliu. Mines was clockwise with less oceanside. Boy was it hot when I went (early Sept) and I'm in California. lol

Great vlog. If you dont mind me saying and its not a criticism but I think you need to be pushing and slightly easy gear, you appear to be pushing slightly to big a gear. Those vistas though omg. x

Coastal. 10km nice, 10km the horrible cheap foreign tourist jammed Platja d'Aro/Palamos, and then 100km inland... 🤦🏽‍♂️
