I love this song, but to me it's not as happy or hopeful as it seems to be to others. I have bipolar disorder, and this reminds me of the bursts of euphoria and optimism i often get in between really bad episodes. "Last night all i wanted to do was die" and "My girlfriend looked worried and asked me why" particuarly give me this feeling. And I also think the melody has kind of a melancholic undertone to it, but that might just be me. Interesting how a song can have such opposite meanings to different people. Either way it’s beautiful.
