Thank you for the video, it is really very useful.

A family member gave me his first generation Homepod which is not working after it fell off a table. Due to its age it is out of warranty and was not repaired or replaced by the official Apple service. He tried unsuccessfully to repair it and my question has a lot to do with this repair attempt.

Today I opened it up and the flat cable that connects the motherboard to other components on the bottom of the device is broken very close to its connection to this motherboard.

I really don't think this is the original fault of the device but I would like to know if there is any possibility to repair or replace this cable.

I was wondering - for that failing cap issue that results in the farts ..

is there a way to measure how far into that problem you are by measuring the power draw of a silent-stream playing homepod ?

mine's rather warm - doesn't do any farts ... just got it tho

I messed up and knocked off the little chip exposed on the first rings that are disassembled. Is this reparable or just look for a new top ring?

Hey man Great job! I have an big request, can you please measure how much voltage deliver (on the diode) that power supply where you change the diode, unfortunately my I HomePods IC TPS54560 is faulty too, and it is not available in my region, and I wonder if I can insert correct voltage to find if only that is the issue, otherwise not going to invest in parts to fix it . I bought an HomePod on the eBay, apparently the same problem, the guy knows that he is selling a non-powered HomePod,  detected this, It took a while before he can agree to get me my Refund, but with  Ecosystem, they could know that the HomePod was having the issue from the seller. Now, I have been able to purchase TWO GOOD HomePod from CEX. Very amazing sound and I am enjoying it.

I have an issue where my HomePod will not give me the option on my phone or other device to initialize setup. I can restart it by holding my finger down and it literally says “your home pod is resetting”, turns red, sounds fine. But it just won’t let me connect to it to transfer my info or set up. Can you fix this or do you have any suggestions?
