I remeber the Rheem gas valve fiasco. Every water heater had bad gas valves that failed within a year

Funny enough my worst experience was with a Bradford white water heater. Got it all installed and later that evening got a call with a flooded garage and laundry room! The bottom element popped out and completely welded the bottom plate and then began gushing water out! Had I not installed a pan, the water would have easily flooded well into the house causing extensive damage but instead most the water ended up in the garage. This was one heater out of hundreds and I have installed many since.

I have an AO Smith. I've had them for years and years never had a problem or an issue with any of them. They live their life 10+ years and then I replaced them.

State all day long. For the cost and features, I have zero problems with these. Plus, the anode rod is separate, which is very helpful when inspecting/replacing. Bradford White is a good tank, no doubt, but in my area the state is far easier to obtain and the cost is less for extremely similar features and numbers. Just my opinion based on fieldwork.

The gas valve issue was a supply chain issue white Rodgers and Honeywell couldn't keep up with demand. Bradford white is a much smaller manufacture and didn't need to switch to a different gas valve.

I just had to pull my 1994 Bradford-White and it wasn’t because of a leak. Decades of propane heat damage to the feet finally rusted them away.

It all comes down to how well you maintain them. I had an AO Smith that was 15 years old. I took it out of precaution since the water heater is not next to a floor drain. We cut it open, and it could have lasted another 10 years. Gosh, I felt dumb.

I PUT IN A RHEEM AND NEVER HAVE HAD ANY TROUBLE WITH IT. AFTER 4 YEARS NOW. I DO SOFTEN THE WATER BEFORE GOING INTO IT.

It wasn’t Rheem Ruud issue with the gas valve . It was the manufacturer of the valve (Honeywell/robertshaw ect ) Rheem Ruud was quick to fix and address the problem and pay to fix it . Rheem has hands down the best warranty

Just got a BW installed today. They were wanting me to take an AO Smith which I'm sure from the supply house is okay. Time will tell!

I'm in southern Oregon. We only use bradford whites at my company. Have you had any experience with American standards? We recently had a new supply house come into town from California, and have been pushing them pretty hard.

Sorry but did I hear this correctly in your video here that Rheem and AO Smith are the same but with different labels? Not sure how accurate that statement is. These are definitely different companies. They make similar products but are not manufactured in the same factories together. Otherwise, I really like the information in your videos.
