As a person who works in software test I am very aware of the fail ability of technology which dampens my enthusiasm for the stuff a bit. Even so I totally love the buddy robot vision that can clean up the house. I am waiting for them since I saw the first robot designs.

One very important point for me is that humans have to understand the term "garbage in, garbage out". We humans have to be careful what information we base technology on (feed AI with). Ethics and truth is something software cannot learn from crawling the internet without supervision.
If we manage to get that one sorted I look forward to virtual buddies like you envisioned them. Else... not so much.

I have to imagine what it would be like to see being able to read a book to someone and have them ask questions digitally to make us remember the book a little bit better, and be able to actually have valid critiques for essays, and stuff or details that we could use.

I work in a warehouse, and robots are already in place. All sorts of automation really.

In many cases, we are ok with this as it may replace human jobs, it also makes the jobs remaining easier.

As an amateur writer, it is AI I give the stink eye to. It is a tool some are abusing, but I have found some places where it can be useful. Though those places are… very limited in scope.

Love the future you envision. It is an optimistic future.

I know you (Jazza) have your opinions about AI as a whole, but I think it speaks volumes that when given a sponsored video about AI workstations you still had Alysha do the polished renders instead of shoving them in an image generator. Like you said, a lot of things that humanity at large needs to be cautious of when moving forward, and prioritizing human happiness and health over commercialism.
